The Willows Daycare
The Willows Daycare is an OFSTED registered nursery offering full daycare or sessional care and an Out of School club and holiday club facilities.
We are open from 8.00am to 6.00pm (49 weeks a year). The Willows is closed for two weeks over Christmas period and one week during the summer half term for staff training. We are closed all bank holidays.
The daycare facility is a purpose built, bright and spacious provision with a large, exciting outside play area for children to learn, explore and have fun.
Find our aims here.There are three separate areas to The Willows Daycare and they are divided according to age group.
The Nest
The baby room, known as The Nest, provides care for children from birth to two years. The Nest is fully equipped with a variety of stimulating resources such as treasure baskets, musical instruments, sand and water play, home corner and block play.
There is a non-mobile area and a sleeping section.
The room has its own kitchen and uses a smaller fenced off garden located directly outside our toddler room. This area is covered by canopies so can be enjoyed in all weathers and consists of on area of lawn, safety surface and fragrant plants to stimulate the senses.
The Seedlings
The Seedlings provides care for children aged 2-3 years. This rooms is designed to meet the developing needs of those children emerging from babyhood to toddler. The room is set out in familiar areas so children know where things are and can access toys independently. There is lots of space for the children to be active but there are also quiet areas for them to relax and sleep.
The Blossom Room
The Blossom Room provides care for 3-5 year olds. The room is designed to allow the children to learn through play and become independent. It consists of the following areas:
- Home corner/role play
- Mark making/writing
- Block play
- Sand and water
- Quiet/cosy
- Reading
- Graphics/painting
- Maths/number
- Computer area
- Investigative area
The large outside learning environment is accessible at all times and there is a large area covered by a canopy ensuring access to this space and the fresh air whatever the weather!
Staff
To ensure that the high standards we expect are met, we feel it is essential to get the right staff and therefore endeavour to employ staff who are highly qualified and experienced. All staff to through a well-structured recruitment process, are police checked by OFSTED and references are thoroughly checked.
All full time staff will be qualified to Level Three and will hold a relevant First Aid, Food Hygiene and Sageguarding Children Certificate.
